How Living Devo Fits Into Your Walk
Living Devo is intentionally simple but deep. It’s designed to help you slow down, reflect, and grow — whether you are brand new to faith or have followed Jesus for years. This app is a companion, not a replacement for real Christian community.
What Living Devo is Not
Living Devo is here to support you, not replace the essentials of following Jesus.
- A replacement for prayer
- A substitute for reading Scripture
- A replacement for a healthy, local church
- A source of professional counseling or crisis intervention
In the U.S., call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Outside the U.S., please contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline.
Healthy Signs (Green Flags)
These are starter signs — not a full checklist. Every church is imperfect, so look for consistent patterns of humility, clarity, and accountability over time.
- ✅ Teaching rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus
- ✅ Leaders who are humble, transparent, and approachable
- ✅ Clear, safe ways to ask for prayer or help
- ✅ Accountability among leaders, not isolation or secrecy
- ✅ Financial transparency and clear boundaries
- ✅ A culture of serving others, not celebrity or performance
- ✅ Space for questions, doubt, and honest wrestling
Warning Signs (Red Flags)
These are not the only red flags — just common ones. Pay attention to patterns of fear, manipulation, secrecy, or pressure that repeat over time.
- ❌ Leaders who cannot be questioned or corrected
- ❌ Scripture used to control or shame people
- ❌ Pressure to give money with guilt, threats, or fear
- ❌ Leaders who avoid accountability or oversight
- ❌ Dismissing mental health needs or medical treatment
- ❌ Isolation from family, friends, or outside voices
- ❌ Gossip, favoritism, or secrecy among leadership
