Living Devo
Our Commitment to Privacy
Living Devo was built with a simple principle: your spiritual exploration is personal.
In the free experience, this app DOES NOT track you, DOES NOT profile you, and DOES NOT store your Scripture searches — you can explore Bible Navigator, Devotionals, and Challenges freely without creating an account or sharing personal information.
If you choose to subscribe to Living Devo+, a simple account is used to keep your journal entries, built devotionals, and progress synced across your devices — so the same journal follows you from your phone to your laptop. That's the only reason an account exists: nothing about you is tracked, profiled, sold, or used for anything beyond showing your own reflections back to you.
What Information Is Collected
Free experience:
- NO name or personal profile
- NO account or login required
- NO Scripture search history is saved — Bible Navigator sends your question to generate a response, then discards it; nothing is logged or kept
- NO personal notes or reflections are collected
Living Devo+ subscribers:
- Your email address, to manage your account and subscription
- The journal entries, prayers, and reflections you choose to write — stored so they follow you across your devices, and for no other purpose
- Payment details, handled entirely by Stripe — Living Devo never sees or stores your card number
Nothing beyond this is ever collected, sold, or shared. Bible Navigator's guided reflections are generated using OpenAI's API — your question is sent there to produce your answer and is not used by Living Devo for anything else.
Delete Your Account or Data
If you're a Living Devo+ subscriber, you can permanently delete your account — including your journal entries, built devos, and account info — at any time from My Account inside the app. Deleting your account also cancels any active subscription automatically, so you won't be charged again.
Don't have the app installed, or can't sign in? Email us at foundercw@livingdevo.org from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you, usually within a few days.
Deletion is permanent and can't be undone. The free experience never creates an account or stores anything tied to you in the first place, so there's nothing to delete unless you subscribed to Living Devo+.
How the App Works
Devotionals and Challenges are built directly into the app and run entirely in your browser — no server call is needed to read one or work through it.
Bible Navigator and Devo Builder+ work differently: what you type is sent to generate your response — a guided reflection to your question, or a devotional built around your topic — then returned to you (see "What Information Is Collected" above). Neither is generated locally, but nothing you type is stored afterward beyond what you choose to save yourself, like keeping a built devo in "Devos I've Built," or a journal entry if you're a Plus subscriber.
When you choose to open an external Bible website, you are leaving this app and visiting that site directly.
External Bible Resources
This app provides optional links to BibleGateway, so you can read full passages directly from Scripture references shown in Bible Navigator.
This external site operates under its own privacy policy. Living Devo DOES NOT control, collect from, monitor, or track your activity there.
Security Practices
- Strict Content Security Policy (CSP) on every page, limiting what can load or run
- NO analytics, ad tracking, or usage profiling — nothing about your activity is ever sold or shared
- Local storage is used only for on-device convenience — remembering your theme, saving a journal draft in progress, recent searches, or a usage limit — and stays on your device; it's never used to track you
- A small number of trusted resources are loaded to make the app run: Supabase (to power accounts and sync for Plus subscribers) and Google Fonts (for Journal+'s handwriting styles). Neither is used to analyze or profile you through this app
The goal is a safe, focused, and distraction-free experience.
Spiritual Use Disclaimer
Living Devo is a study and navigation tool — not a spiritual authority.
It DOES NOT replace prayer, it DOES NOT replace reading Scripture itself, and it DOES NOT replace wise pastoral guidance or real community.
Scripture remains the authority. Faith remains personal.
